Kansas Ignition Interlock and DUI Law

Concentration of .08 - .14.

Offense

1. 30 day license suspension, followed by 180 days restricted to ignition interlock.  Must show proof of completion of your ignition interlock period before you can have full driving privileges reinstated.  May have One Year of ignition interlock if you meet certain prior offense criteria. 

2. 1 year license suspension.  Followed by one year restricted to ignition interlock device.  Must show proof of completion of your ignition interlock period before you can have full driving privileges reinstated.  

3. 1 year license suspension.  Followed by two years restricted to ignition interlock device.  Must show proof of completion of your ignition interlock period before you can have full driving privileges reinstated.  

4. 1 year license suspension.  Followed by three years restricted to ignition interlock device.  Must show proof of completion of your ignition interlock period before you can have full driving privileges reinstated.  

5. One year license suspension.  Followed by ten years restricted to ignition interlock device.  Must show proof of completion of your ignition interlock period before you can have full driving privileges reinstated.  May apply for a review of driving record after five violation free years.

 

Concentration of .15 and above.

1. One year license suspension.  Followed by one year restricted to ignition interlock device.  Must show proof of completion of your ignition interlock period before you can have full driving privileges reinstated. 

2. One year license suspension.  Followed by two years restricted to ignition interlock device.  Must show proof of completion of your ignition interlock period before you can have full driving privileges reinstated. 

3. One year license suspension.  Followed by three years restricted to ignition interlock device.  Must show proof of completion of your ignition interlock period before you can have full license privileges reinstated. 

4. One year license suspension.  Followed by four years restricted to ignition interlock device.  Must show proof of completion of your ignition interlock period before you can have full license privileges reinstated. 

5. One year license suspension.  Followed by ten years restricted to ignition interlock device.  Must show proof of completion of your ignition interlock period before you can have full driving privileges reinstated.  May apply for a review of driving record after five violation free years.
